About C.B.I.S. Insurance Services:
Contractors are required to be insured for workers comp, non trucking liability and physical damage which includes collision and comprehensive insurance. For Contractors who lease equipment the Liability blanket policy is generally under the Lessee while your fleet is under their dispatch.
Many times your workers compensation insurance and non-trucking liability is offered through a sponsored program. Rates differ from state to state and from insurer to insurer. As a contractor, no matter who your current insurance provider is, you should always seek additional quotes from other insurance companies and ensure that you have competitive rates. It is common for contractors to find themselves needlessly paying thousands of dollars a year in extra premiums unnecessarily.
At Courier Brokers and Insurance Services (C.B.I.S.) we are an independent agency that allows us to use different insurance underwriters within your state. We offer policies from several different national and regional insurance companies in order to find the best rates for you. C.B.I.S only deals with carriers that are approved and meet the qualifications of your operating agreements.
For Workers Compensation we offer policies in 46 states. (only four states offer state issued policies such as Wyoming, North Dakota, Washington and Ohio). A few states are pure rate states. Pure rate states are states that the rate is governed by the state for each class code. This makes it more difficult for insurance providers to offer discounted rates.
We find insurers whose coverage meets and or exceeds all the requirements set out by your operating agreement. We only work with AM Best A- and Class IX or better insurers.
